The local library branch located at Videm has been operating since 1983 in the premises of one of the residential blocks, which were renovated in 2008. Although it is limited in terms of space, it only works on 40 m², it is still very welcome in this part of the city of Krško. Its open doors enable many children to take their first journeys into the interesting world of discovering the alphabet, putting together the first words and sentences, and later on, as they grow up, read novels or find literature for school assignments. Due to its proximity to residential blocks, it is also indispensable for many adults when they search and browse literature to read in their free time.
Despite the fact that the local library branch at Videm carries out library activities on a limited scale due to lack of space, it plays an important role in raising the quality of life in the environment by spreading reading culture and enabling access to information. When the desired books or newspapers are not held at Videm branch, library users can order them from the central Valvasor Library in Krško. Different generations come to the library, among them many children, in whom we want to encourage a positive attitude towards books and reading. The local library branch at Videm is a pleasant place where visitors can spend their free time or simply engage in conversation.
